Peter Potter's fascinating life
An illustrated talk "Tales from an Essex lad, a Lancaster Rear Gunner".
Some stories about the rich life of Peter Potter, a farmer’s son whose family migrated from Fobbing near the Thames up to Easthorpe, Fingringhoe and finally East Mersea.
In WW2 he was involved in Churchill’s Secret Army (the Auxiliary Units) before his RAF career as a Lancaster Tail Gunner.
Post war he tells of the Great Flood and a new career in Colchester Fire service before retirement with racing pigeons in Elmstead.
