Boxted- Station 150: the story of an airfield

The story of Boxted Airfield, USAAF Station 150, during the Second World War - home to the 386th Bomb Group, followed by two very high-scoring Fighter Groups, the 354th “Mustang Pioneers” and the 56th “Zemke’s Wolfpack”. The story continues with handover to RAF Boxted, closure, then civilian use, up to the formation of a museum with an extensive B-26 Marauder collection, uniforms, Link trainer and many other fascinating artefacts and documents.  Boxted Airfield Museum continues to welcome visitors from the USA, relatives of the thousands of personnel giving two years of invaluable wartime service from Boxted.
