A most rewarding read

Hugh's book has captured the extraordinary life of Peter Louis Potter. It is beautifully written, enabling the reader to get to know Peter through his vast experiences. Many are touching, others hilarious and almost unbelievable. I particularly liked the detailed account of Peter's childhood growing up in the farming communities of rural Essex. However, the spirit and bravery he showed whilst serving in WW2 as the Rear Gunner in a Lancaster Bomber shines through too. This is by far the most rewarding book I have read for some time.

We were delighted to produce Frank King's fascinating memoir of his life growing up in Fingringhoe and working in the Colchester area, and as a minister on the local Methodist circuits. The book is not available for sale to the public but the Mersea Museum holds a copy.
